We were bummed that Kyle had to work this year on the Fourth of July. But we still had a day jam packed full of fun things to do to celebrate though!
And of course I still cannot get a picture of Kasen without him trying to shoot his Spiderman webs in it!
My favorite is when Kasen starts posing for me and asking me to take his picture!
Tuesday night at YW we did manicures and pedicures! Rogan was nice enough to paint me some patriotic fingernails for the holiday this week too. I only have 4 colors at home and luckily one of them is red so that I could paint Tai's fingers and toes to match.
We first went to a BBQ at my parents house for lunch. There was so much yummy food, including a fruit pizza and slush! Then my mom did some Fourth of July crafts with the kids. She's the BEST like that. They made finger print stars and were loving it.
From there we headed up American Fork Canyon to have dinner with my mom, where she's camping at Granite Flats. Kasen was loving Pongo. Every time I turned around he had his arms wrapped all the way around his head, giving him a hug.
The kids made s'mores after dinner and just as we were finishing a rain storm came and poured all over us. That was when my family took off. We'll be back to camp on Saturday though.
We made it home in time to hurry and wash off the smoke and bug spray smell and then went over near the rodeo grounds to watch the Eagle Mountain firework show! I didn't realize it didn't start until 10pm so we were waiting much longer than necessary!
The show lasted 6 minutes, but the kids loves it. They were yelling out all the colors of the fireworks.
On the way home Kasen told me he loves the Fourth of July.
And I'm proud to be an American too.
