Spooky Tree

Today we carved our pumpkins we picked from the pumpkin patch!

Most people I know let their kids paint their pumpkins instead, which kids would probably like better, but we just haven't tried that yet because I like carving. 1. because we bake the seeds afterwards and 2. we put candles in them so they glow on the porch which is fun.

 I thought my kids would at least enjoy scooping goop, but neither of them really wanted to touch it.
 Tai would literally rather pour dirt on her head than touch pumpkin guts.

Exhibit A

They picked their pictures though and I let Tai help me by stabbing the pumpkin with her little carving knife quite a few times.

 Kasen picked a haunted house with a bat and the moon and Tai picked a SPOOKY tree! I love how excited she was about the SPOOKY tree too and how she says, "SPOOOOKY" in her low voice.

It kinda looks more like a weird octopus...

 I told them to carry their pumpkins out to the front porch and she was mad cause it was "too heavy"

She managed though!

And we snacked on pumpkin seeds and ate chicken chili for dinner. It was a wonderful lazy day today.
