On this week's episode of Bikes, Hikes and Runs we rode bikes to the library to get some books!
Tai only wanted Barbie books, which just happened to match her Barbie bike! I didn't bring their water bottles cause there's a drinking fountain at the library. Which had a giant garbage bag over it when we got there! Luckily Kohen had his Spiderman water bottle so I made 6 trips to the bathroom to fill it up for Kasen and Tai.
Then Friday we all hiked to Bridal Veil Falls! Kyle was teasing me for wearing my hiking boots. Until we left the wide, paved walking path and actually hiked up to the waterfall! It's only 1.4 miles there and back so super short. But Kohen is getting too big to keep being carried.
Saturday I ran my 19th race! But not so much running as standing in line for the obstacles. With no water in sight. It was fun to try once, but I don't think I'll sign up for the mud again. I mean, I don't even like holding Kyle's hand if it "feels" dirty! Haha
We also hit up the first slash pad this summer with Ashley and her kids at Independence Park in Bluffdale. I decided I prefer going to the smaller parks to keep an eye on Kohen better and he was loving running around at the splash pad!
I can't believe how much he is talking all of a sudden now! He's in the phase where he repeats the last word of everything we say.
This week I also got to go out to dinner with every American companion I had on my mission in Brazil!
Even though Stephanie was only my companion for one day of splits! 3 of them are from Washington and this is the first time we've all been living in Utah so a get together was meant to be! It was so nice to catch up with them! #hackysackcircle
The week before last, our friend Nick invited us to a free even at Splash Summit and it was probably my most favorite day of summer so far!!
We tried going to a free Splash Summit event last summer and it was PACKED. People everywhere! So I was kinda expecting the worst. BUT this event was perfect! It was the most empty I have ever seen the waterpark before. AND they were serving pizza, desserts, bringing around drinks and popsicles AND someone came by to take our pictures! It was so fun!
The kids LOVED the slides way more than I thought they would. We all did the Avalanche Racer like 4 times and Tai told me she can't wait to be bigger like me so that she can go faster down the slide.
We also did Mudslide Gorge a couple times and Tai fell down in the tube, but was yelling, "My bum is having fun!" the whole way down!
We swam in a "hurry cane" in the wave pool, Kasen's favorite ride was the Vortex, Kohen just wanted to chase seagulls, and Kyle was happy that I have someone else to ride the slides with now.
We've also had a few fun sprinkler under the tramp days in between.
