Half way through Jr. High I ended up switching friend groups and I am so thankful for all the good friends that came into my life when I needed them.
Maybe my point of view is unique or skewed, but I don't feel like my class had "cliques". I was friends with some cheerleaders, some dancers, some swimmers, and some student council members. I was friends with choir members, orchestra players and fashion frenzy participants. Most friends were LDS, but some weren't. I feel like the circle just kept getting wider and it was always the more the merrier. I never experienced bullying, everyone was inclusive while still being different and I wish everyone could have that kind of high school experience.
I'm not good at going out of my way to talk to new people, I wish I were better at it and I wish I would have gone out of my way to be friends with more people that needed one, but I have learned that if you want to have a friend you need to be a friend. Friends are important. The people you surround yourself with matter. Connecting with people is what life is about and I love that I'm still learning from and laughing with such old friends! Even if it's only once a year.
