God Bless America

For I don't know how many years now, Follow the Flag has hung the largest American flag being flown, above Grove Creek Canyon in Pleasant Grove. And this year we finally went to see it and watch the unveiling ceremony early in the morning on the Fourth of July.
I don't usually feel emotional during patriotic type events, but this time I got the chills! It was so neat and made me feel so grateful for this beautiful country and the freedom we have to worship God, pursue happiness and feel safe.
America isn't perfect, I mean gas right now is $5.29 per gallon, BUT America is still the greatest nation in the world and I will forever be proud to be an American. I don't know how any American could think about the number of lives lost fighting for the type of freedom we all have and not feel patriotism towards our flag.
Later in the day we went back to hike up underneath the flag and see just how huge it is. Kyle worked the night before the Fourth and the night of the Fourth, so we didn't get to see him. But are so grateful for his service in protecting freedom and keeping people safe.
We hung out at Grandma and Grandpa's house for most of the afternoon. The kids got to play in the sprinklers for a little while and eat some delicious scones. We love scones!
Later my cousin McKenna invited to her house in Ogden for a BBQ and the kids got to play with their second cousins! It's so crazy that we are old enough to be the ones hosting these things now.
We came home just as fireworks were starting. I didn't buy any, but the kids wanted to see some so we went on a walk around our neighborhood to see the fireworks the rest of the neighborhood was doing.
When we got home Tai told me how sad and mad she was that I wouldn't go lay on the tramp to watch more or take videos of the fireworks. So pretty much I ruined her day and it was the worst ever. So I'm glad I woke up at 5:45am to let her have the worst day ever! lol
The night before the Fourth we were also at my Dad's for family dinner so we celebrated a little bit then too. The night before that we took the kids to see Minions, but not at the drive in theater like I'd hoped.
I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
God Bless America, land that I love!

I was also remembering The Fourth of July, FIFTEEN years ago, when I went skydiving! That was the best Independence Day ever! What better way to celebrate freedom and feeling free than free falling out of the sky!

Today Stephanie invited us to go swimming at her pool with her! And I'm pretty sure they were trying to get the kids to leave with their ****you playlist. I have never heard such awfully foul music in my life. How does nobody complain about it?! I was praying my kids weren't paying attention and then Kasen let me know, "Hey, isn't this a bad word?!" Ugh. Besides that we had fun. Kasen was swimming great without his floaties on. I practiced with Tai a little bit, but she is still not able to swim without hers on! And Kohen knows how to get his lifejacket off. So that's awesome.
