We picked the kids up from school the Friday before Spring Break and headed for Goblin Valley to go camping for a whole week with the Days!
Kohen had been repacking his little backpack, almost daily, for months, to go to the "campsite" and as soon as the trailer was here he started squirrling away his toys in the trailer and wanted to be out there any time we were. It's all he could talk about!
The hardest part about getting ready to go camping for a whole week is that that is about how many outfits my kids have so I have to do laundry the day before we leave to pack every pair of pants they own.
On Saturday we all dyed Easter eggs, because it was the day before Easter.
I brought a volcano egg dying kit and Kyley brought an egg spinner that was a big hit with all the kids too.
Kohen apparently has no texture issues. He crunched on sand covered egg shells with his hard boiled egg without any complaints.
We brought our Easter countdown with us camping and opened our last egg that morning.
The tomb is empty. He is risen. And because He lives, I can be with them forever.
"He traded His throne for a crown of thorns and He did it all for me. Savior of my soul."
The kids were so excited that the Easter bunny found us camping in our trailer!
The eggs we dyed were hidden all round the trailer, but Kohen did not care to find them.
Kolt's first Easter!
-Not a bad Easter view-
Kyle went out to start the generator in the morning and saw eggs everywhere outside!
The kids ran all over the hill collecting eggs, pop, bubbles and pinwheels.
The whole rest of the trip was telling Kohen to stop eating candy and finding him hiding somewhere to eat more of it. It was too windy the whole time to have a fire for our Easter s'mores so we'll have to make them over Memorial Day.
We ate dinner together that night, all squished in the Days trailer, while it hailed outside. And had a carrot cake roll for dessert.
Everyone that didn't like it gave their slice to Kasen and after midnight Kasen made it up to the bathroom to throw up. Thankful he made it there!! Tai threw up the morning of St. Patrick's Day so I guess it's just our holiday thing.
Kasen and Bentley spent their time digging a giant hole and up in their hideout that Kasen named Banana Sanctuary.
We also practiced our baseball hitting skills. I impressed myself with contacting every ball thrown to me!
2 bike helmets flew out of the back of our truck on I15 (my bad) so we stopped to get new ones, and Kohen LOVED his new Paw Patrol helmet! As you can see.
Monday morning we woke up to go explore the Valley of Goblins.
This was our 3rd time visiting Goblin Valley and taking this same picture.

The drool is the sign of a GOOD nap.

We played a few rounds of Sardines while we were there. I'm not very good at hiding though!
This was the day that Kyle started not feeling well. He got an awful man cold while we were there, but still came on all the hikes between naps.
Kolt liked eating the dirt, but did NOT like walking in his shoes. He still has yet to walk in shoes.
Tuesday we ran over to Little Wild Horse Canyon to do a short hike before packing up to move to Millsite.

There are so many more hikes I want to go on once the kids get a little older. Including Goblin's Lair.
The Scooter Squad was alive and well at Millsite! Tai got a nicest sunburn while we were there and since Kasen took of his CTR ring, that he's had on for almost a year, his finger got a sunburn stripe too.
Not to mention all the bubbles, kites, frisbees and some chalk. And still Kasen would tell me he was bored sometimes! So I played Quirkle, SkipBo, Farkle and Blockus with him.
Thursday morning, before going home, we went to see the Molen Reef Petroglyphs, but could not identify any of the dinosaur tracks that were supposed to be there. Crawling around in the little caves was just as much fun though!
It was a good first camping trip in our new trailer! We only ran out of water once! That had never happened when we had a smaller tank so we'll have to be more careful about that next time for sure.
We watched the DNR pull up to stock the reservoir with 3,000 fish. They let Bentley and Kennedy get right up on the truck to see!
Charly caught a lizard that Kohen was happy to hold and then he got to hold a fish that day too.
