General Conference
One of my favorite weekends to hang out with my fam on the couch and feed ourselves spiritually and physically too. This year Kyle made some fruity pebble rice crispy treats, smoked jalapeño poppers, some won ton type snack and I made homemade cinnamon rolls and our favorite apple toffee dip!
There was a very strong theme of temples and covenants that reminded me how special the blessings of attending the temple are. Also, reminders of praying no matter what because miracles still happen.
"Covenants enhance and further deepen our relationship with Him. Wearing the garment is both a sacred obligation and a sacred privilege. The garment is deeply symbolic and also points to the Savior. They remind us that the Savior and the blessings of His Atonement COVER us throughout our lives. It is His protection. My willingness to wear them is my symbol to Him of my desire to have Him with me always and my commitment to and deep love for Him." -Sister Dennis
"No matter the outcome, all will be well because of temple covenants." -Eyring
"If we change our preparation to enter the temple, we will change our experience in the temple, which will transform our lives outside of the temple. “Then shall thy CONFIDENCE wax strong in the presence of God..." -Soares
"Face life with CONFIDENCE. "All things shall work together for our good." -Gong
When we pray, instead of asking WHY things happen, we should ask, WHAT can I do? What can I learn? -Sister Porter
"Christ's great atoning gift removes every roadblock of physical and spiritual death that would separate us from our eternal home. Everything about the Father's plan for His beloved children is designed to bring everyone home." His plan is your happiness, your redemption, to extend mercy and your salvation. -Kearon
Our job is to love
Be True
Stay True
Be a witness of what we have seen and heard
Testify
Words Matter
Be Valiant in you testimony
Love the Lord and Love others
"God loves all of His children everywhere" -President Nelson
Another theme I felt during conference is that we don't know why things happen, but we can know that God loves us and that he does things for our happiness. Life is about choices. We can choose to find joy, we can choose to trust God, we choose how to react to situations that happen, but we cannot choose our consequences or what God requires from us.
Live what you believe and it will all work out.
I'm so thankful for living prophets that teach of Christ and bring us messages of hope and happiness!
