Maternity and Motherhood

Over the weekend I got to photograph a beautiful maternity session!

Extra fun because it is my little brother's family.

 I LOVE her dress! 

Maternity + Long Dresses = Beautiful!

During my sessions with children we do a lot of walking around and me just following and watching.  Letting them explore keeps them happy and some of my favorite shots are the ones of families genuinely interacting together!

But this one is my favorite!

I call it "Motherhood"

As mothers we are stretched in a million different ways.  Our bodies are not our own.

We have to be there to help our children learn and grow and be safe and taken care of while also being there to love and support our husbands.  Our attention gets divided, our hair falls out and our skin gets stretchy.

But being a mother is beautiful.

I believe it is the most important work I will ever do and I cherish it.  That doesn't mean I will always like it and never complain about it, but that it truly is my greatest source of joy in spite of the screaming and crying.

To all of the mothers out there: You are enough.  You are just what your children need.  And if you don't feel like enough, turn to Heavenly Father.  He will make you enough through Him and somehow weak things will be made strong!
