Parks Before the Snow

I love family date night!
We went to the park last Monday night with Ashley's family for a little picnic dinner and park play.
So glad that this girl is my best friend and always shows up for me!
"Why we need best friends: Because they laugh at the same stupid things we do. Because they give us honest advice. Because they will be there for us, even if they're thousands of miles away. Because they celebrate with us when we're at our best, but still love us when we're at our worst."

Kasen and Hazel wouldn't go down the big, twisty, tunnel slide though so I went up there and we all went down together! Don't know how I fit, but we did! and then Hazel and Kasen went up and did their own little train all by themselves!
Wednesday we finally took Kasen out to ride the bike he got for Christmas! He just looks down the whole time to try and figure out the pedals; has no idea about steering, but loves going fast on his "Ightine aqueen" bike!
Tai climbs all over the playground and prefers going down the slide on her tummy rather than her bum. She likes trying to climb back up it and slide down again too.
Man I love these two!

So we went to the park 3 days in a row, 70 degree weather, and then Friday there was 2 inches of snow on the ground! On fence day. BUT they did not cancel and the fence is now finished!
So excited! And so is Peeka because no more chain for her!
Kyle fertilized the grass, fixed the sprinklers and my OCD has reached a new high because I spent all day today vacumming gravel out of my grass in 40mph wind! Go us!
Operation summerizing the backyard is almost complete!

We had a game night at EmmaLee's house last weekend and this weekend we all played volleyball at Dad's house for Mom's birthday, which I am not good at by the way! Josh tried so hard to teach me about bump, set, spike, but my fear of pain is too much! Hitting the ball hurts... But I try!
KASEN:
  • Still potty training, but he doesn't have to stay naked at home anymore! For the past couple weeks he wears his underwear at home, but never if we leave the house. I tried the cold shower thing twice, just to see if that would potty train him once and for all, but it didn't so I'm not going to force it.
  • He likes watching Little Foot, Despicable Me 3 and singing to the Greatest Showman lately.
  • A couple of times he's asked me if he can do the dishes. And twice I've come back to the kitchen to see that he's pulled a stool up to the sink and moved all the dirty dishes over to the clean side and poured some dish soap in a cup. Such a good helper!
  • The other day I told him not to hit Peeka so he told me he was just petting her fast. The next day I told him not to hit Tai and he told me he was just petting her... Then when we told him not to hit us he let us know he was just doing high fives! Such a turd sometimes. I try not to laugh.
  • He knows which hands are left and right! Kyle taught him and when we ask where his left or right hand is, he holds that one up every time!

TAI:
  • Such a DIVA. She loves shoes. And clothes. She is always wanting me to put her shoes on for her. She brings them to me and sits down at my feet with her foot up, all ready for me to put them on her.
  • Besides shoe, she also says, "Some, bib, tee (when she wants her toothbrush) and wee (when she wants to swing).
  • She will NOT take tylenol. She spits all of it out every time. But has been so ornery from teething too. Snuggle MONSTER.

  1. <3 <3 You need to post a picture showing your fence! I love your blog and the special things you share. How special to be able to participate in the sealing of Kyle's grandparents!
