Summerin' Up

We are getting all sorts of ready for summer over here!
We got our tax return back, cleaned out our window wells, put our new window well covers on, got rid of all the rocks in our backyard and our fence is being put in RIGHT NOW!
Also, we learned that Tai is TERRIFIED of little tumble weeds.
And every time Kyle steps outside, Kasen runs to find his shoes and puts them on so that he can go with him! Never worries about clothes though...
I took Tai running with me for the first time this morning. We did a 5k, but man was it exhausting!
We've also been to the park a few times! The last time we went there was a much older boy there and I was so impressed with him! Kasen walked up and started talking to him and the little boy let him play and talked with him. It made my heart so happy to see! Even when Kasen kept saying, "I'm Jet and you are Chase." The boy said Okay and went right along with it. Thank you Russell, for making Kasen's day.

We went to Charly's 2nd birthday party. For a week every time we got in the car Kasen asked if we were going to Charly's birthday. They got to adopt a puppy and decorate a house for it. Then after we sang Happy Birthday Kasen ran and blew out Charly's candles!
This little chicken snugglet had her 15 month well check visit this last week and now weighs 21lbs. Every time the doctor touched her she would say "ow ow ow!" too. Little stinker. She also knows where her nose, ears and tongue are now!

  • She loves putting everything on her head, or over it. She'll find shirts or bibs and wear all of them at one time. She usually insists on wearing 2 bibs to eat.
  • For the past couple weeks the only time she has a bottle is to go to bed. I've cut all the rest out and she drinks milk from a sippy cup now!
  • Also, another way you can tell that my kids watch too much TV is that whenever a show stops Tai will stomp her feet and point to the TV to get me to start the show again.
  • She's started to hit. She hits Kasen and he hits her back. Neither of them really understand what is happening, but Tai already knows how to come tattle to me. And when Kasen takes stuff from her he tells me he is sharing with her. He already knows how to sugar coat the truth!
  • I love how she squats down with her bum almost on the floor to look at or pick things up.
  • She loves climbing up between the couch and the window- it's her new favorite spot. Except when she gets stuck back there...
  • She likes floating on her back in the tub and 2 top molars just broke through so she has 10 teeth now.
Kasen, oh my Kasen.
  • I just love hearing this kid talk. So clearly too. He just sits and quotes movies all day and pretends that we are all characters out of them.
  • He'll say "Watch me!" but even if he sees you looking at him he won't do whatever he wants you to watch until you say, "I'm watching." I have recently learned that if you don't look at him, but just say, "I'm watching" then he will still go. Haha
  • When he's trying not to cry he does this creepy laugh and says, "I'm laughing!" or "Makes me happy!"- so weird!
  • I tell him I love him with all my heart and he says, "Two hearts!" apparently we have 2 hearts for some reason.
  • When I tell him he has a cute tushie (since he's still always naked from potty training) he'll say, "It's NOT cute! It's STINKY!!"
  • When almost eaten his meal all gone he shows me his muscles and says, "I'm growing big and strong!" Sometimes I tell him to finish his food and if he doesn't want to he says he'll stay little.
  • He doesn't like when I pretend to cry when he's hurt me. He tells me to stop, but also gives me hugs and kisses too- so I keep doing it.
  • The back of his knees still gets super rashy. We keep Aquaphor on him, but when we forget it looks so painful!
  • Kyle has been leaving his bedroom door open so that Kasen comes into our room when he wakes up. I'm not a fan, but usually Kyle will give him his phone to play games until I wake all the way up. I'm not a pop off my pillow type of person!
We've made some pretty sweet forts downstairs too! Can't wait till we get to play outside more, this summer is going to be the best one yet!
