This morning we went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point with Cozy and Scarlett!
We got to feed the big orange fish again and play in the fountains and walk through the secret tunnel to the secret garden!
I
kept telling Tai that she couldn't touch the flowers, but that she
could smell them. Listening to her try and sniff so big was super funny!
Every time we went around a bend in the path she would point and yell,
"look mom, more flowers!" It was stinkin cute.
I was also reminded of a talk that a sister in our ward gave on Easter Sunday referencing D&C 59:18-19
"Yea,
all things which come of the earth, in the season thereof are made for
the benefit and the use of man, both to please the eye and to gladden
the heart; Yea, for food and for raiment, for taste and for smell, to
strengthen the body and to enliven the soul."
God
didn't create the beauty of the earth just to provide for our needs or
because the bees care what colors the flowers are. God created beautiful
things for us. Because He loves us and wants us to have joy. To gladden
our hearts. These things are evidence of His love for us and to remind
us that He exists. What a beautiful witness of a loving Father in
Heaven!
"All things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things
that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the
planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a
Supreme Creator." (Alma 30:44)
Last night Kyle and I used the Hale Center Theater tickets he got me for Christmas to go see Matilda at their new stage in Sandy! It was so great. The stage had so many pieces that moved around and changed and Mr. Wormwood and Ms.Trunchbull were hilarious! Mr. Wormwood was a mix of Jim Carry and Master of the House guy on Les Mis. Trunchbull was played by a man and so funny! The only criticism I had was that the accent Matilda was doing made it hard to understand what she was saying or singing about a lot of the time.
Before the show we went to dinner at
the new Red 8 sushi place in Saratoga Springs. They don't do all you can
eat, but their prices are super affordable! The Christmas Mango Roll is
our new favorite and was only $7.50!
On
our way home we stopped at Crumbl for dessert. Asking Kyle to take a
picture of me is not only stressful for him (because it embarrasses him)
but also for me because I know that I only get 1 shot at hopefully
getting a picture I like because there is no way Kyle is sticking around
to take a 2nd one, even when I don't like my twisty tie legs.
Thank you for a fun date though Kyle! I love you!
