If summer were only one day, that day would be Wednesday, July 1st!
We did all the things.
Kasen and Tai have been doing their first session of swimming lessons for the last 2 weeks and they have been totally worth it. Kasen and Tai even had their very own teacher all to themselves.
We got to go the same time as Hazel and Hyde too! Everything is more fun with friends.
Today was the last day so they got to go down the slide a couple times, but Tai still won't put her face in the water voluntarily.
It's still driving me crazy that I can't find what year the PG pool opened. Kyle says he did his swimming lessons there, but I'm wondering why my mom drove me to American Fork for my swimming lessons if PG had a brand new pool. I swear it wasn't built till later than that...
From swimming lessons we headed to the splash pad for the first time this summer!
Cooper, Beckett and Salem came with us too.
From there we went to swim in Knox and Tuck's swimming pool with Hank and Quinn! It's the perfect size to let the kids swim around in all by themselves.
Then we all went to their Quickball game and watched Kasen do so great hitting the ball! I love that every time he walks up to the plate he says, "I'm left-handed." He's so cute.
Over by the fields one day we got to see some "Anvelope" as Tai calls them so now she's always excited to see more anvelope.
So that was July 1st. Summer in a nutshell. An epic day with all the friends and all the fun things!
Kasen has 2 more Quickball games left and I signed Kasen and Tai up for 2 more weeks of swimming lessons. Every morning we drive over there Kasen counts as high as he can, well over 100. Sometimes he starts with 100 and if Tai tries to talk to him he gets mad at her for making him "lose his mind!"
We've done some other fun things the other days too though. One day after swimming lessons we had a play date at Hazel and Hyde's house and watching Kasen learn to drive their Jeep was so funny. Tai got out of the passenger seat real quick with her eyes big and wide, but Hyde had no problem riding next to Kasen.
Another day after swimming lessons we went on a June temple walk together. We found every color of flower in the flower beds and per Tai's request we sang the temple song to the flowers to help them "gloom."
Last month we got to go back to church for the first time since the Rona! Our ward gets to go once a month, split into 2 groups for a 30 minute sacrament meeting. Oh how I miss church.
One day we took our bikes to the church parking lot to ride and Kyle tried helping Kasen without training wheels, but Kasen does not pay attention at all. He needs lots more practice! I like my new bike though!
Kasen keeps telling me that he wants to ask Santa for bracelets that shoot webs. So I got him one for his birthday that sprays silly string and can shoot water and he got another one that shoots darts, but still he tells me that he's asking Santa for bracelets that shoot webs. Poor kid is going to have his heart broken on Christmas cause I have no idea what else will satisfy that request!
They had fun playing with his slip n' slide though! It wasn't super slippy and slidey, so next time we'll need to try bubbles on it or something. It was still a nice way to cool off though and play in the water.
- When we listen to Frozen II in the car, the only person allowed to sing Elsa is Tai. She'll let me sing the Ana part and Kasen gets the boy parts, but only she can sing Elsa.
- Kasen told me today that our shadows keep us gravitied. Interesting thought. lol "Without our shadow we wouldn't have gravity!"
- I wish Tai would stop banging her head on everything, especially me. And the cat. I don't know why she does it, but it's weird and looks like it hurts...
- Kiwi caught her first mouse, which is good news cause that's why we got her, but also bad news cause mouse still in my house!
2020 is half way over though so that's some good news! Hopefully...
