The Air Show 2024
Every other year the Air Show comes to Hill Airfare Base. And it is tradition to go.
So we went! Friday night we pulled our trailer up to Anderson Cove to camp near Pine View Reservoir with Grandpa Kelly, The Days and Grammy Tammy was camping there too! She had dinner with us Friday night to celebrate her birthday. Happy Birthday!
Kasen was excited he got to sleep in a tent with Bentley both nights and learned that it's important to keep the tent zipped so bugs don't get in.
We went to bed early though because bright and early Saturday morning we woke up to be there when the gates opened at 7:30am. Front row for the Thunderbirds. We were more like 3rd row though.
Grandpa Kelly bought all the girls matching shirts and the boys got airplanes to play with.
By 8am we were all set up and the kids were playing Down by the Banks. That was when we realized that the Air Show didn't actually start until TEN!
They had blue wristbands to write parents phone numbers on for kids. We told Kohen if he got lost to show a police officer our phone number to call. Not long after that he came to ask us if he could go get lost. "I will tell the police to call you!"

Kyle's friend, Christian, came with us this year, but it was getting HOT so he didn't stay the whole time. Kyle was getting an ocular migraine and tried to take a nap and I got Kolt to take a very short nap too. Kolt didn't want the ear protection or his hat on. He gets so flushed too that it looked like we were cooking him.
ALWAYS picking his nose. I have never seen a kid pick their nose more than Kohen. And I'm pretty sure he is almost always holding a booger between his fingers. So gross.
We were baked after being there for 9 hours!
Luckily we got to stop at Dairy Queen on the way back.
And once we were back at camp I took the kids down to play in the reservoir with Grammy. The water is so high this year that there isn't much beach, but we still had fun.
Sunday morning my Mom brought Grandma Sandy over to visit, since she lives there in Huntsville. The kids got to play with Playdoh in Grandpa's trailer, we played a Minute to Win it; Fruit by the Foot game (which I crushed) and then while we played Bocce Ball, Kennedy rocked Kolt to sleep in a hammock.
Even though there are ear wigs, Pine View is one of my favorite places to camp. I love how easy it is to go down to play in the water. And even though the grass is all weeds, they must not be too pokey cause none of my kids would keep their shoes on.
