Bye Summer

Last week before school! Trying to make it count. So on Friday we went with the DeVaney's to hike Rocky Mouth Falls in Sandy. It was a short, but fun little hike up to a waterfall!

Once we got there it started raining for a few minutes, Aiden was stung by a bee, then Kasen was running to the cave and fell and scraped up his hand and elbow and Bryson fell near a spider that terrified him too. It was an adventure of scrapes, scares and stings!

After lunch they came over to play on our waterslide and while I was putting it away, Kohen decided to take Kolt over to the Gneitings house! That gave me a scare. Then I was freaked out again when I saw the allergic reaction that Kohen's eyes were having. The whites of his eyes were puffing up around his iris. I had never see anything like it. So we went to after hours doctor. They said it's environmental allergies, so we're going to do allergy testing for that now.

I've been trying to get Kasen to finish the books he checked out from the library a while ago so I told him if he would finish one that we would go use his FroYo coupon. That did the trick! So we went to get FroYo and also went to the movies for cousin Dakota's birthday that week too!

It has rained nearly every day this week. So the kids didn't get to sleep on the tramp this summer to watch the meteor shower, but we did go to Kidstopia on Tuesday and then today Katey invited us to swim in her parents swimming pool for the last day of summer break!

 Kasen

-He loves yelling the word, "Banana!" even though he doesn't actually like eating bananas.

-He is full of fun facts, like knowing what Kokopelli are and that they mean good luck to the Native Americans, that the ship on Parent Trap is not the Titanic because the Titanic had 4 smoke stacks, and

-However, he was confused about how women have nipples. While explaining why bottle nipples are called nipples he said only boys have nipples and girls have boobs. Then he learned that nipples are also on boobs and we all had a good laugh!

-One day he came to have a serious talk with me and Kyle. He let us know that he gets confused when I tell him to do one thing and Kyle tells him to do another thing and he doesn't know who he should listen to and asked if we could work on that so he doesn't get in trouble. Bless his heart.

-He loves making his own games. This one is a version of Clue that is the rooms of our house!

-He has sold TEN copies of his Banana Nut babies book. All to family and Hazel. He's been so excited though. I just need to find a cheaper way to print them. I spent $55 on ink cartridges and we were able to print 6 books (26 pages, 2 color) before the color ink was gone! What?!

Tai

Tai is always working on artwork and I love the things she draws and paints! She's almost finished reading all the Addy and Josephine American Girl Doll books.

She is fantastic at puzzles too! She gets them done so fast and has all the patience in the world for them too.

Kohen

I just did Kohen updates for his 4th birthday, but he has started playing with Tuck more and sure loves all of his friends!

Kolt

-He is in the phase of putting all his food on his head and is becoming a picky eater. He used to love bananas and hot dogs, but won't really eat them now. He won't eat his applesauce pouches anymore. He does not like strawberries, blueberries, peaches, avocados or yogurt either. Most of his food just ends up on the floor.

-Since summer started he's been taking one nap a day and a lot of car and stroller naps with all the running around.

-He can go down the stairs!! After taking the baby gate off one day in June, he barrel rolled all the way down. So we put it back up. But now it is off again! And he's only fallen down them once again so far.

-He is terrified of car washes, one certain snap chat filter and when the piano at Grandma's plays by itself.

I can't believe summer is over. Bye popsicles,  potato bugs and the kids playing their made up game of Freaky Tag outside every day.

Sunday the kids each got a back to school Father's Blessing. Kohen's ended early cause he wouldn't stop laughing and trying to move his head away from Kyle's hands... But the rest was special. 

It's been real and it's been fun, but I am ready for school to start!
