This year Mom and Dad planned a fun family trip to stay at a cabin in Island Park. Both Heidi and Ashley were in Island Park the same time as us so our first night there, Heidi took us to Big Springs (and Johnny Sack's cabin) to feed cheese to the huge fish. Kolt LOVED the fish! When I'd stand up with him he'd get mad until I'd hold him over to see the fish.
While we were there, Uncle Ben also introduced the kids to geo caching and now they are hooked! He had put $2 bills in there for them and they were so excited. He ended up taking them to 7 different ones on our trip.
This geo cache had hand stamps, but the ink was dry.
Friday morning Mom and Dad took all of us to visit the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, in West Yellowstone, so we could see some animals.
After that our family headed into Yellowstone to see Old Faithful. We got to be in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming all in one day!
On our way there we saw a bison and some cow elk down by the river. We also saw a fox and some frogs down in their holes by our cabin!
Kolt was ornery the whole time we watched Old Faithful erupt. Then we walked all around the other trails near Old Faithful. We took the kids to get some ice cream there when we were done walking around.
Saturday morning we all went to walk around Upper Mesa Falls and then to see the Lower Falls. It was beautiful with an awesome rainbow too.
Hunting for another geo cache.
After lunch we went back to West Yellowstone to walk around the car show with Grandpa. He loves seeing old classic cars and trucks at the car show. Kohen loved seeing the fast, red cars that have the "boosters" on the back to go super fast.
We stopped for more ice cream and this time I tried the Huckleberry one, then we walked around and found another geo cache.
Grandma got them each their own cake and they got matching unicorn and dinosaur toys to walk on a leash. Kohen also got a dinosaur to bounce on too! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!
We walked by one store with balloons and Kolt was turning all the way around wanting one. A boy working there ran to catch us to give him a balloon so Kyle bought some cotton candy from him and gave him a tip! So nice of him to bring Kolt a balloon.
That night was our family birthday party for Keslee, Grandpa and Kohen!Grandma got them each their own cake and they got matching unicorn and dinosaur toys to walk on a leash. Kohen also got a dinosaur to bounce on too! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!
Mom planned a fun little program with the kids to perform 'America Rocks' and did handprint art with them too.
Sunday morning it was time to clean up and head home. We caravanned with Ben and Marissa and stopped for lunch, finding one last geo cache. We made it home just in time for our turn to make treats for Treats on the Street. Thanks to Kyle saving my awful looking cookies.
Ben taught us a couple new games while we were there, Pirate's Cove and Quacks of Quedlinburg. Kyle and I liked the Quacks one better but both of them take more strategy than I enjoy with games.
