Life Lessons

We went to feed ducks at Nielsen's Grove Park in Orem and they have multiplied so much since we went two years ago! And apparently there are quite a few people on social media that will tell you not to feed bread to ducks... But it doesn't kill them so...
Tai was not a fan. She was much happier once I put her up on the picnic table to watch Kasen and Charly feed the ducks. Kasen learned very fast to keep his hands up so that the ducks didn't come and steal his entire piece of bread too! I learned that Kasen still doesn't mind eating stale bread.
"The duck bit my finger mom!" Well, Kasen one bit my leg too. Twice.
Once we ran out of bread they left us alone. Then Tai had to take her shoes off and run through the grass. She got duck poop between her toes and that was freaking her out. I told her I wasn't going to touch it and to go wipe her feet in the grass. So she sat down and pulled her shirt down to wipe it off.

We also played at the park where Tai learned another very valuable life lesson about not walking in front of the swings while someone is swinging. She got hit right in the face and has thee biggest goose egg, in the middle of her forehead, that I have EVER seen.
This is a perfect example of something that bothers me about millennial's parents too. Everything is always someone else's fault and they teach their children that by saying, "Did that swing hurt you? Say no no swing!" Instead of telling their kid, "Well, YOU need to watch where you are walking. Hopefully you learned for next time." Take responsibility for your own actions and teach your kids how to also. It isn't always someone else's fault when you fail or get hurt.

I finished my Temple Typology this month!
Every temple in Utah! Except Monticello.
Logan, Brigham City, Ogden, Bountiful,
Salt Lake, Oquirrh Mtn, Jordan River, Draper,
Timpanogos, Provo, Provo City Center, Payson,
Vernal, Cedar City, Manti and St. George.
Since Kyle and I have known each other (10 years now) 6 temples have been built in Utah and 2 more announced! (Saratoga Springs and Layton) That is so wonderful! I'm so thankful for our goal to go at least once a month and the blessings it brings to our marriage. Constantly having an eternal perspective of what really matters makes such a difference.

Kasen Boy
  • Kasen is 100% potty trained!! He hasn't had a single accident since he's been in underwear at night for a couple weeks now! He's started to like to pee standing up though which kinda freaks me out. I feel like he has to pull and stretch too hard to get himself over the edge of the toilet bowl...
  • He doesn't bother us when he wakes up in the mornings anymore either. I get to lay in bed listening to him play until he eventually yells, "Come wipe my bum!"
  • He's doing awesome at riding his bike. When I think back to when he first tried in April to now it is crazy to me. He doesn't even ride in the stroller to the park anymore. He rides his little bike and even makes all the corners all by himself.
  • He tells us fairly often that he and dad are gentlemen and that mom and Tai Lynn are ladies.
  • I started telling him I love him more than .... and he'll do it back. Recently I've been told that he loves me more than garbage and underwear! haha
  • I love how he says "No thanks, I'm good" whenever his answer is no.
  • He also knows the "soft side" of his elephant blanket and always has to have that side on him. He must get it from me because I use a certain side of my towel to dry off too.
  • Sometimes he asks us to do raspberries on his tummy.
  • When the volume is too loud he asks us to "low it down" and when he needs us to help wipe his nose he tells us he has "down boogers" (meaning they are running down his face) which sounds a lot like he is cussing.
  • When I hand him clean clothes he'll usually say some excited version of, "You cleaned these for me?! Thank you mom! I'm proud of you."
Baby Tai
She still opens her mouth just as wide to eat her food as she did when she was a baby! More so when I am sharing my food with her. Every time I watch this video with her crazy eyes I laugh at loud. Freakin hilarious. "bite. Bite. BITE!"
Kyle looks at her blue eyes when she says, "Daddy" and can't even say no to her.
And I LOVE when she says "thanks mamma" anytime I hand her something.
  • She's started to cover her ears and say "loud" when anything is a little bit loud.
  • She asks me to put Kasen's underwear on over her diaper and loves wearing them.
  • She points out temples, but it sounds more like apple when she says it.
  • She also points out any time she sees a heart, star or AIRPLANE. She spots them long before I even hear them.
  • She also knows all the animals in her animal book. Dog, fish, duck, kitty, rabbit, bear, mouse, and frog. She only knows the sound for the duck and frog though.
  • Her sassy little self also knows how to tell people to "MOVE!" and she runs after us yelling, "wait" if Kyle or I ever walk away from her.
  •  We've been trying to get her to take a Binky when she sleeps, instead of sucking her thumb. She'll play with it during the day...
I love how she lays on her tummy to color and how she yells, "ride!" to Peeka.
Tanlines! <3
