Over General Conference weekend we went camping with the Days at Strawberry Reservoir again. We got to go up Thursday night too because our kids didn't have school on Friday! We grabbed some pizza on our way up and all watched Hocus Pocus in the trailer together that night.
The first morning there, the kids were riding scooters and Tai was helping Kolt. He went to step onto the scooter, missed and fell back, hitting his head on the asphalt. Tai picked him up and started yelling, "He's bleeding! He's BLEEDING!!" He got a nice goose egg and another very small cut on the back of his head that bled a lot. He's all good though! Poor kid falls and hits his head ALL the time.
Kyle got to do quite a bit of fishing while we were there and caught some good sized fish. Kohen was loving it. He wanted to fish with dad anytime Kyle was going down.
He's so gosh darn good lookin!
Bentley made a homemade crawdad trap once their family got there. I don't know if their trap caught any, but after it got dark they went down to the water and caught a whole net full of crawdads!
Then we played a new game called Azul.
I love how Kohen is just holding on to the tail of the fish.
When there wasn't enough wind for the kites, then Tai tried to ride fast enough on her scooter to make the kite fly.
They finally got enough wind to fly one for a while with all the string let out!
While we were watching one of the sessions of conference, Kolt was supposed to take a nap. Kohen told us Kolt was crying and we told him it was fine, but next thing we know Kohen is carrying Kolt over to Kyley and Jordan's trailer! Dragging his blanket behind. Bless his heart.
I always love conference weekend. There are always themes that stick out to me, but I also liked the questions asked that can help us continue in the right direction.
"What is my place in the plan, my purpose in His kingdom and my potential in the eyes of God?"
"What circumstances cause me to feel God's love?'
"What lessons can I learn from the Book of Mormon to help me live in this day and age?"
"Why do we live so different?"
"To whom or to what will I give my life?"
I am so thankful for the clarity, purpose and inspiration the gospel brings to my life!
Last camping trip of the year was a good one!
Until next year!
