It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
At preschool Kohen got to make a gingerbread house and then the next week went on a field trip to see Santa at the Orem Mall. He walked right up and gave him a hug then asked, "Are you a real Santa or a fake Santa?" Santa said he was real. Kohen told him, "My friend Bryson over there said that you are the fake Santa!" Then told Santa that he has been good and bad. Santa let him know that it's okay to make mistakes as long as you try to mostly be good!
Kohen also told him that he wants a tiger shark monster truck, a bone shaker monster truck, a race car monster truck, a hippopotamus and Optimus Prime for Christmas!
Kolt did not want to touch Santa so we just watched Kohen get a sucker for him.
Later that night we went to watch Grandma Forsyth's Christmas concert with the Chauntenette Women's Chorus. They sang Christmas Songs from around the world and Kasen's favorite was Carol of the Bells.
Connie, Ed and Jenny came to visit Utah so we all got to go out to breakfast one morning with my parents and Ben. I don't think I'd seen her since I was her host at the MTC so it was fun to say hi.
The Degraffenrieds invited us over to celebrate German Advents again this year to have hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls with our friends. They've been doing it for the last 4 years and we just found out they will be moving to Louisiana in a few months. We're all so sad! We are all going to miss them.

That same week there was a relief society temple night that I was able to make it to also. Loved being able to spend some extra time in the temple.
Every year my Grandma and Grandpa Forsyth give us a card with money and dehydrated apples made from their apple trees. I have the best Grandparents in the world. They send each grandchild and great grandchild birthday cards with money and Tai got a baptism card from them this year too. They are always showing that they are thinking of us.
We went to deliver gifts and then drove around to see the dancing Christmas lights.
Our all time favorite one was at A Very Merry Meridian because they had a Wicked mash up that was incredible!! Loved it!

Speaking of lights, this year Kyle put Govee lights on our house, so now he doesn't have to climb on the roof to put lights on and then take them off. He especially likes them though because he can change them to green and yellow when the Packers win!
Kyle and I have been teaching the Valient 8 & 9 year old class this year in primary. 5 of them are older siblings to the CTR 5 class we taught last year. This is the second time we have taught Kasen's class and next year we get to teach Tai's class! She's so excited.
We also got Kolt's nursery ornament, so now all of our nursery babies are on the Christmas tree!
Our other family ornaments for the year are from visiting Island Park and Yellowstone this year and the cruise that Kyle and I went on where we got to go snorkeling and see 2 sea turtles!
We made snowflakes for family night one night, to decorate the windows with. I don't know why I can't figure out how to fold the paper to cut the snowflake out of, but I could not!
The kids had a Christmas sing this year, but parents weren't invited, it was just for the other grades at school. Kasen sang a funny Ugly Sweater song though and Tai told me she sang the Santa's Elves song. I like going to see them sing...
One other thing that bothers me at Christmas: When people post on social media asking you to send them their address if you want their Christmas card. Um, no. The point of sending a Greeting card is that you are THINKING of people you care about and want to wish a Merry Christmas to. You think about who you want to send cards to and then reach out to them and ask them for their address! Gift giving is about letting others know that you were thinking of them. Put in a little effort. To me, asking feels like, "please ask ME to show you how well MY life is going."
But also, I love getting Christmas cards so please send me one!
After Christmas last year I had all of our names embroidered on our stockings so this is the first year we've used them and I love how they turned out! (I share with Tai)
The Sunday before Christmas was good though. Kohen was excited about him and Kolt both having sweaters to wear and the primary got to sing in sacrament.
That night we made Christmas Chex Mix, opened our new Christmas jammies, read our new Christmas book called 'The Last Straw' and watched Home Alone 2 before the kids slept under the Christmas tree.
While I'm showing pictures of my kids sleeping...
Kohen is the cutest, His new favorite toy to take care of is Rainy the deer. We've explained that since it has antlers that means it's a boy, but he insists that she is a girl. He sings Child of God to her at night and has made her her own bed to sleep in with a pillow and blanket. He loves Rainy.
For a few nights in a row he slept underneath his fitted sheet and one night we found him in his bed, sleeping in this Santa present bag. If it's not a fort or a box then it's a present bag. He's so funny! On Christmas Adam we had our Green Grinch pancake dinner night!
Christmas is so fun. And so yummy!
