Double Digits

I love how much Kasen has been looking forward to his birthday! He's been counting down and it finally came! He requested cinnamon rolls for breakfast, but I swear every time I make them they look worse and worse. Still yummy though!

He wanted to go see the Minecraft movie with his friends, but it wasn't in theaters anymore. Luckily How to Train Your Dragon came out last week so we took his friends to see it AND it was even $5 Tuesday too! We stopped at the Dollar Store to let Kasen pick out a box of theater candy for each of them.
After the movie we went back home for food and presents. Jett got him a Toothless, Daisy got him a dinosaur to learn to crochet, Kaisa gave him a Lego set and Camden got him Gravity Maze.
Curtis got him a poster and some banana gummies that he loves, Michael gave him a Nerf gun and Perler beads and Matthew gave him $10. Grandpa Kelly gave him the game Sequence, Kyley's family gave him a card game Flip 7 and Lyndsey gave him the Flip Side game.
Instead of cake, Kasen requested Oreo chocolate pudding pie so that's what we did! With his favorite meal, orange chicken for dinner.
I loved just listening to them all talking and laughing together.
Grandma and Grandpa Forsyth came by later and gave him a candy bar poster with $25, he got a birthday card with $10 from Great Grandma and Grandpa Forsyth and Namoi sent him a birthday card too! Grandma Mel and Jack stopped by later in the week and gave him the rest of the Wings of Fire books he needed so he has the whole series now!
We got Kasen a few books, registered him for the Haunted 5K race and sent him to a day long Space Center Camp in Pleasant Grove. Camden got to go with him and they got to do 2 missions.
Kasen loves playing Gimkit on the computer. It's something they'd play in his classroom so hopefully it's also educational. He's learned to mow the lawn this year and has been doing that every week too.
I love how much he still loves to read and write. When he grows up he wants to be an author, video game designer and an anesthesiologist (to make money). He loves board games, is very protective of his siblings and has told us recently that it is so hard being the oldest. The week of his birthday he gave a talk in primary about how the Lord will forgive our sins and wrote it all by himself. I was so proud of him.
He talks so loud, but we love him so much! Kasen is just amazing.

I'm curious if kids his age just don't have birthday parties anymore though? Tai goes to lots of birthday parties, but out of everyone Kasen has invited to his birthday parties for the last 3 years, he's been invited to one birthday party. Sorry Kasen!
Thank you everyone that came to make his day special though. He had a very happy birthday!
We love you Kasen!
