Golden Receivers and Mini Cheerleaders

Kasen has been asking us if he can play tackle football... But I don't want to pay $300 for him to just spin around like he tended to do during soccer, basketball and T-ball. So we paid $39 to try flag football first and then will talk about tackle later. I will say he has been much more engaged with flag football than he has been with any other sport he's tried!

The one week I wasn't there he ran the ball all the way down the field and almost got a touch down! I love hearing him laugh out on the field when he pulls a flag too. He seems to be having so much fun!

My most favorite thing though is his awesome sportsmanship. Every time his teammate does something great he goes to tell them "Good job!" and even when it was a player from the other team that almost caught the ball Kasen went and told them, "Good try!"

 His team is called the Golden Receivers, so for his first game Grammy brought Percy to be their Golden Retriever mascot!

They played 5 games and lost every single one. They still got to play one more time for the playoffs today though! Kasen pulled 2 flags and their team ended up winning so they got a trophy.

He dodged the first kid, but the next kid got his flag!

Tai got to do a little cheer clinic with the West Lake Cheerleaders for a week. Her friend Brynlee, from her class, was doing it and asked if Tai wanted to come! They practiced for 3 days and then got to perform at the West Lake football game Friday night.
