This month we got to go to the Saratoga Springs Temple, for the first time since its dedication, to see Lyndsey and Mark be sealed! It was the first live sealing I've been to when children were being sealed to parents also. It was super special. Congratulations to their forever family!

I love soup season! I've made a couple new soups this month. One was Shepherd's Pie Soup, and it was especially special because I used my Grandma and Grandpa's garden onions, carrots, peas and corn in it and got to think about how grateful I am for them the whole time I ate it! Then I made Witches Brew Stew with carrots that look like pumpkins and skull mushrooms with a side of our favorite sweet cornbread.
KYLE made some delicious homemade tomato soup with our garden tomatoes, Besides cherry tomatoes we got a couple pumpkins, like 10 tiny watermelons, some onions and a few ginormous zucchinis that we never even plated this year. The rest of what we planted didn't not make it! So we have zucchinis the size of watermelons and watermelons the size of zucchinis.
I also hosted Book Club this month and learned how to make Hot Cross Buns, since that's what they ate in the book all the time. No raisins though. Those are icky.
KASEN makes all sorts of plans about what he wants to do when he grows up. He wants to run a factory, be in the Air Force, and recently decided to be an author. We'll see if that is still the case after he finishes he short story for Reflections at school.
Tai: "I can run your factory when you go to the Air Force."
Kasen: "K, just make sure there's no glitches or hacks and the firewalls are up! And make sure no bandits rob!"
-One morning he made us all pancakes nearly all by himself!
TAI let me know that my flicks are warm and cozy flicks and dad's flicks are like a hammer into your head.
-We went to their first parent teacher conferences and Tai is also one of the best readers in her class! Her teacher said she is a good friend and a leader and all the things that make us so proud.
-I love all her little craft things she is always making.
KOHEN is so funny right now! And also very hard.
-When he wants to eat something and I tell him no, then his go to persuasion is, "but it will make me super happy!"
- He will not stay dressed. Ever. Kyle told him we don't want to see his penis anymore and will cut it off if he doesn't go put underwear on. "With with with SCISSORS?! I will bleed on my toe!"
He whines about what his socks are like when I put them on, then the second I put on his shoes he takes them off cause he says they are too hot.
- He used ask for Chick-fil-a sauce by calling it "Dad's ranch". Now he calls it "Chicken lay sauce"
- I love how all day long he tells me, "Let's go get my kids."
- His new favorite kind of kiss is what he calls a "Poo kwiss" or a "fart kwiss" when I go to kiss him, but blow a raspberry instead.
- We're still trying to figure out the deal with yellow. He knows that blue is blue, but he also says that yellow is blue. After calling a school bus blue, Kasen told me, "I think something is wrong with Kohen's vision..."
-We've been trying to get him to ask nicely for things, with a "Please", but when we ask, "What do you say?" He usually responds with, "I say YES!!"
We got to go on a friends date to go see the new Paw Patrol Movie for $5 Tuesday and Kohen LOVED it! We also got to go play at Arctic Circle with Grandma and Carter one day.
We got to go to 2 birthday parties in a row, Collins and Parker! Collins had her party at Classic Skating so Kasen and Tai got to try skating for the first time. I was so proud of them trying new things! I always rollerbladed when I was younger, I have never skated before. Looks kinda hard.
After that week though I was done taking my kids out by myself though! Kohen put his finger in the birthday cake and I had to chase him through the bounce house to get him out. Kyley confirmed that I looked like one of those lizards running on water in there! Haha
We went to a touch-a-truck event where the kids got to climb up into all the city's big trucks. Kohen thought it was pretty cool, but then the kids got to climb up to play in the big salt pile and getting Kohen to come back down without throwing salt in everyone's face was a joy.
Today I got to run my 21st race! I did the Provo Haunted 5k for the third time and Ashley and Cozette came to run with me. It was so cold at the start, but I got a 34:12 time I was proud of.
Running is hard, but today felt good. Things are just more fun with friends and Halloween mixed in there. I loved seeing my family there cheering me on at the finish line too.
Kasen told me he wants to run this race with me next year. Kyle told him he needs to practice running so he can run the whole thing with me. Kasen's response was, "Why? I could just walk and I'll still get a donut." Haha
Happy October!
